Here are some process pictures of the pour we’re doing this weekend. Norm’s invaluable assistant is Tom Crowley (Pomona ‘86), an artist and sculpture teacher in his own right but, when he comes to Ranchita, still a studio slave. Note that the investments he loads, apparently effortlessly, into the kiln, weigh as much as 150 pounds each. These images begin with a finished wax vessel that’s ready to invest. Later, we’ll add some that document the wax process as well. Hover your cursor over each  image for a brief description.

While I (the dutiful wife) have been slaving  cluelessly with templates, codes, widgits and plugins, Norm (the artist) has been working on waxes of vessels and platters that, with luck, will soon be bronzes . He will invest the waxes this weekend at Ranchita, and if burnout is successful, the pour will follow.  To help you survive the suspense, here are some pictures. These were taken a while back but, frankly, bronze pours all look pretty much alike.
