Caelum Moor

The Highlands, Arlington, Texas

1986-1997

Caelum Moor was commissioned in 1984 by Jane Mathes Kelton (Kelton Mathes Development Corporation) as a signature piece for a new development known as The Highlands. The environmental sculpture was installed and dedicated in 1986 on a 5.5-acre site and remained there for 11 years. In 1997, the property was sold. The stones were given to the city, removed and stored until a new site was identified.

The film below documents the making of Caelum Moor, from the quarry to installation at the Highlands in 1986. Directed by Bob Bassett, it was commissioned by Jane Kelton.
