Caelum Moor

The Highlands, Arlington, Texas

Caelum Moor was commissioned in 1984 by Jane Mathes Kelton (Kelton Mathes Development Corporation) as a signature piece for a new development known as The Highlands. The environmental sculpture was installed and dedicated in 1986 on a 5.5-acre site and remained there for 11 years. In 1997, the property was sold. The stones were given to the city, removed and stored until a new site was identified.

The film below documents the making of Caelum Moor, from the quarry to installation at the Highlands in 1986. Directed by Bob Bassett, it was commissioned by Jane Kelton.

Richard Greene Linear Park, Arlington, Texas

In the summer of 2009, Caelum Moor was relocated to Richard Greene Linear Park on Randol Mill Road adjacent to the Texas Rangers baseball park and the Dallas Cowboys stadium. The configuration of the stones was redesigned for the new site.

The work was rededicated in October 2009
